Vietnam

:)
Vietnam's been really great!
Went for this private tour of the Unicorn island today. :D We took a boat to the island, and we went to this coconut-candy making workshop where we tried de-husking the coconuts, and stirring the mixture for a few seconds (though it's supposed to be brewed for three hours), and eating the warm coconut candy mixed with peanuts and durians! I bought some back for you guys!

After, we went to this place where we tried all the tropical fruits. Actually, the fruits were the same as the ones we find in Singapore, papaya, pineapples, cempandak, pomelos, dragonfruit, starfruit. But anyway, I tried to be interested when the guide was explaining to me about all the fruits. The fact that they got people to sing us traditional Vietnamese songs also compensated for that fact!

I traipsed around the island in my big straw hat. :) & I bought some milk apples and custard apples.
We were brought to this honey-making restaurant, where there were bees that made honey from the longan tree. They made honey tea for us, and let us try winter melon and ginger. Oh, they brought out these pythons for us to see and I insisted that they wrap the pythons around my neck. Sweet!

We took the boat to another island, and when we reached there, we were brought to this little sampan. Jamus and I tried rowing the sampan! I felt really relaxed then. :)
Oh, the island we reached was the island where the Miss World 2010 would be held, and they were planting 130 trees for the 130 contestants. The place was beautiful. We had lunch there, elephant-ear fish, dragon egg, spring rolls, pork, soup and desert. Traditional Vietnamese lunch!
I tried climbing a tree to get some pomelos, but they weren't ripe. :( Major sulk.

Went back to the main island, and to the city.
Went to Miss Aoda, and designed my own dress. :) Whee.

Had Christmas dinner! I went for sevenths, and eights and ninths!
Love love the chestnut cream soup, caviar and all the christmas food.

Um, I kind of want to meet Duong and the rest soon but I'm going to Chu Ching tomorrow. :(

J: What're you applying as?

Hello!
:D
Just walked from my house to Wheelock with Julia! :) She bought so many things today! And we ate so much, Starbucks, Sun & Moon, Canele, Cova... Thank you my friend, for treating Ju & I! We spent 8 hours trying to find a manicure/ pedicure shop and we kept snacking! We got balloons! Haha. :) And she didn't know who my friend was, so I pointed to this middle-aged guy, and she really went up to him and asked him to come over. :D Classic!
Oh, I got Ju addicted on canele!
Finally finally spent my entire day with Chanel & Rica yesterday. :D Whee. We didn't catch up for so long. They bought so many things again. Oh, my Tiffany and Co. charm bracelet had a missing charm, so Rica and Chanel felt so bad for me that they went to search for another charm from the Charm Club for me. :) Went eating too! Rica bought these toy cars that can run on the ceiling!
Met up with all the hcis people at Marche and Ben & Jerry's. :)
Um. Hmm. Got to pack my things now.
Jakarta to see Saraw!!!

Swap & Shop!

I earned money but spent much much more and my mum says it was economically useless, haha! But srsly stuff were dirt cheap and lots of people had like new arrival stuff that weren't even launched yet - that x 250 and yeah, leave your wallet shut. Whatever, it was fun (: And thanks Joyce for uh bringing me around! (:

Hi karyn! Thanks for 26 hours of slack ass CIP! (:

Last week we had our games comm dinner and i'm not even in the comm! Seoul Garden is terrible. The next day Sancia & i had our K2 2x4km time trial and i told her she'd have to drag the Seoul G in me. But guess what, i had to drag the Yuki Yaki in her too HAHA so we're even. Stupid buffets. Oh yea, we visited Ying at ice cream gallery hahaha thanks for the generous helping! (:

People have been saying that i lost weight. Well my mum says i'm fat. But maybe that's because i finished her cheesecake. Ok i'm gna eat now

Fixed my internet

Today was a nonsense day but anyway, it was good! The original plan was really stupid: Rowing at 7am, gym at 12noon, CIP at 4pm. Then it got changed to: Facial at 12noon, shopping at 3pm. I didn't PON anything, just that i was sick so no rowing and no gym. Then mum knew i had nothing to do, so she brought me along to her facial. Which was reallly painful btw, they squeezed me dry and i simply gripped my bathrobe and kept my eyes and mouth shut. Post facial sucks, so I couldn't possibly go for CIP because i would have to meet a lot of people. Had to cancel and then my granny who was at the spa for some massage joined mum & i for lunch and then we went shopping haha. I got nude heels and a floral dress, its sweet (:

From that day we met joyce!

Hahha yay sunday (:

Oh yeah, church camp! Hmm.. I didn't rly make lots of new friends, just new names and faces i guess, 3 days isn't really enough. But def spent time with the old ones! (: I prefer catching up with old friends than meeting new ones anyway. Ok and i thought it was very spritually refreshing, learnt much from the sessions which i had no prob paying attention to. Didn't feel a response during ministry but i know i'm not ready yet. My commitment level isn't even there sometimes, that's gna take some time... Oh, my group was pretty okay. Knew the girls much better than the boys, because during buzz time we actually split into boys and girls and i led the girls' buzz. Which reminds me that i haven't led any cell or BS group this whole year. Which also reminds me we didn't have cell this whole year. Hm the games were fine i guess. Love the effort the comm put in. (: Angel/mortal was... quite funny hahahahaha i feel quite stupid actually.

Ok, off to pack my stuff.

heehee china was really fun minus away the deprivation of freedom of choice during mealtimes therefore being stuck with eating the same stuff day after day, all the spitting and smoking everywhere and of course, who could forget the toilets hahaha the china experience wouldn't be that enriching without the above mentioned but i suppose we really could have done without (:

i must say this trip was rlly exciting. hahaha everything that could possibly gone wrong happened we lost passports, phones, actually everything there is to lose :X we got pickpocketed, caught pickpockets, chase away pickpocket, almost got hit by pickpocket? we even had this mad rush at the airport cos our original flight got cancelled cos of the weather so like we had to find another airline who had space and all. hahah exciting much. the sights and sounds there were amazing loved going to school there heehee lessons passed so quickly! but all the exercise i had the past 11 days was climbing the mountain and chang cheng HAHAHA

Christmas at Starbucks

  • Dec. 12th, 2009 at 10:48 PM
My internet died on me so I haven't been on. I'm at like some Starbucks now /: And my nose is killing me along with my throat so instead of my usual mocha frappe i got a tazo tea. Nice and hot.

The past few days have been busy, hardly home... I'm still not in the mood to write about camp hahaha maybe when i'm better. Or maybe when the stupid computer people come to fix my internet for me. Anw, Karyn signed me up for this kids' camp CIP. It was like way tiring even though it was two days and volunteers didnt need to stay over. We were mainly facilitators and more along with pictures when my internet's back.

Today was fun, besides 16km of rowing and 4 sets of circuits. Wl Ying & I met up with Joyce and got started with our stall haha yay can't wait for next sunday!! And Joyce's workplace sounds excitinggg haha totally have to visit. (:

Ok i just hope those computer dudes hurry up fix my internet its damn sickening.
